Hockey Women's Asia Cup started in 1985 in Seoul, South Korea.

1989 version was in Hongkong.
China, Japan and Korea made it to the podium.

Korea, India and China finished first 3.
2004 New Delhi, India:

2007 Hong Kong:

This means, apart from Malaysia, who won Bronze, back in 1985, history-wise, it's a competition dominated by Korea, Japan, China and India (in that order).
Korea has 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze
Japan has 1 Gold and 3 Silver
China has 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze (all Bronze from the last 3 versions)
India has 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze
Last time, in 2007, in Hong Kong, India finished 4th getting beaten by China for the Bronze medal play-off.
Let's see what happens this time....
